You know, I actually know the parents of the baby, it’s a small
world. And we actually used twins, that’s kinda like the normal
process during television and they were great. I think they were
about a year/ a year and a half years old but they’ve been
allowed on TV sets since they were six months old so they
were so comfortable and they were doing everything that they
were meant to, such great babies.
Are you interested to see someone playing a younger version
of your character next series?
Yes, in this new series you will see younger versions of some
characters but they are much, much younger. But yeah I’m
interested and curious to see what young Ando looks like.
And Ando’s also going to be starting a new business with Hiro?
That’s true yeah, we are staring our new venture, and I can’t reveal too much about it but we have a really, really cool kind of poster and I think you’re going to start seeing some of it pretty soon.
What would you like to see your character doing next season?
I’d love to do some more action; I’m a pretty good athlete in real life and I would love to incorporate some more of that. We’ve seen a little bit of it but this season I would love to do some more fighting and action and stuff.
You’ve also just been in a film called “Star Runners”; what was that film about?
“Star Runners” is about a space cowboy/smuggler and his sidekick run afoul of a repressive interplanetary government when he takes on cargo that turns out to be a young woman with extraordinary powers – who is joining the rebellion against the government. Chased by the military, they crash land on a devastated planet where they are hunted by giant, carnivorous insect creatures.
Is this role like your role of Ando at all?
I think I brought some of Ando to the role but he is a different character so I would say that he is quite different yeah. The cool thing is that it was filmed in Bulgaria and I’ve never been there before!
Have you done any other work recently?
I have parts in the films “White on Rice” and “How to Make Love to a Woman”
What do you like to do when you’re not acting?
Travel, I’ve just got back actually. Right after series three ended I travelled for about six weeks. I was in Hawaii with a basketball team that I play for called “Hollywood Knights” who are a team of entertainers who play for charity and we were visiting the US troops in Hawaii and playing exhibition games and that was amazing. I stayed in Canada a couple of weeks for some fan events and publicity and then I was also in France and that was my first time out there, so that was pretty amazing.
